BODY-MIND CONNECTION (English version)

 

Why is the body-mind connection more important than what we think?


MIND TO BODY:


Our brain translates our thoughts and feelings through ELECTRIC impulses, which are sent through the body causing a CHEMICAL reaction. So, WHATEVER our mental or emotional state is, it reacts and manifests in our body. This occurs almost instantaneously, and the physical response is usually PROPORTIONAL to the strength of our thoughts or emotions.
Many times for example when we receive good news we secrete endorphins and other "happiness hormones" and we feel happy and energetic.  It also happens the other way around and many times when we receive bad news before eating, our stomach hurts, when we are worried, our head hurts or when we are upset, our liver hurts.
In many experiments, without the patients' knowledge, pills WITHOUT chemicals have been given to them, claiming that they DO have chemicals and that these will alleviate their pain. After ingestion of these the patients claimed to feel much better. This effect is known as "Placebo". This happens because our brain, BY JUST THE IDEA, actually secreted substances that decreased the pain.
In other words: WE ARE ABLE TO SECRETE OUR OWN PAINKILLERS, BASED ON OUR BELIEFS.
 
BODY TO MIND:


So, for example, the simple fact of having a good posture, influences us to feel more confident. And walking with our heads down and between our shoulders will influence us to feel sad.
Body influences on our psychology, from chemicals in the blood to bacteria in the gut.
Exercise, meditation, and a healthy diet, for example, also influence our daily DECISION MAKING.
Body and mind interact in a constant way, so when you relax physically you also raise your levels of emotional well-being.
 
It is therefore vitally important to pay attention to this MIND-BODY connection. By being aware of this we can direct our life to a state of overall well being in all aspects and to have a conscious influence in every moment.
 


I know many people who know this in theory, but never put it into practice. I invite you not to be one more.
